Some sad news out of Philly this week: one of Aaron’s hometown heroes has died.

Harry Kalas, the voice of the “world-fucking-champion” Philadelphia Phillies and narrator for NFL Films has passed away. His indelible & omnipresent baritone has been a part of millions of lives over the past 39 years.

As of today’s memorial service at Citizen’s Bank Park, Harry is only the 3rd person ever to be laid in state inside a ballpark (Babe Ruth & the Cardinal’s Jack Buck are the other 2), and only a handful of announcers in the history of the game had a connection with the fans – and players – like he did.

We’ll miss Harry the K.  “Outta here,” but not forgotten.
