No. They switched “out” MJ after he died. He had been on each of their active lists since January. For some reason, I was home to update the site, and they told me who to replace him with in a matter of minutes.

Ah-so they “Switched” in MJ at point of death….what a friendly death pool organizer you are-I have to think who I want up there..I’ll get back to you.

The day after the loud guy commerical guy died, the first thing my co-worker said: “Was Billy LoudGuy on anyone’s death pool list?”

No. Reserve players carry no points, but when an active player dies, he/she is moved to the bench and substituted. I immediately heard from Jeff & Kristen regarding who to swap, so it may have looked like Michael Jackson was on their benches. (Who you would like to switch out for MJ?)

The only player who died on a bench was Bea Arthur, and Sean wasn’t awarded any points for her.

In 2001, the Chicago Tribune published a two-part article primarily critical of the movement, with quotes from several ex-members accusing the group of authoritarian practices. One of the JPUSA activities criticized in the article includes “adult spankings,” in which a system of corporal punishment was employed as punishment for adult members of the group. The practice was eventually abandoned by the group, with leaders citing the practice as reflective of how “spiritually immature” the group was at the time.

Deathpool question gentlemen:

Does the “Reserve” list have the same amount of points as the regular list? The rules say it doesn’t, but your counting of the current pool says otherwise.
