Topics include: tactical war gazebos, Starbucks is a giant fucking liar, Badass of the Week, talking up on the radio, “the Men of SureWood Builders,” Aerosmith, Video Prozac, the proper way to behave with a downed fly in the room, Vince’s TV, Listener Mike calls in after Comic-Con, a non sequitur VHS Pick, escaping zombies, and That’s Messed Up!
Also, and most importantly, Aaron’s high school friend Vince is visiting in Seattle and sat in on Ep45.
For a few minutes this week, we got into some slightly heavier fare than usual on deez grapes regarding religion & politics (not for too long – don’t worry, Listener). Normally, we like to be a distraction from that stuff, but it this is how it played out. Deal.
Comic-Con + Mobility Scooter =

So I want to come for the BBQ, but will come from Portland…is there somewhere in Shelton I could crash for the night–some listener couch?

Ben-maybe no one was looking for your penis to see it was showing.
Men of Surewood builder=awesome. I would totally get calenders for all my girl friends and the gays.
RE: God saving some from tragedy-Yeah-some stuff is filed under the “Shit happens” and then the “I don’t know why”. Why are some people richer, prettier, nicer, have better families, don’t get cancer, etc.? Does that mean God likes them better too?
Politics…I wish everyone was required to take a basic, non-religous history/polysci class before they were allowed to talk about anything-esp. on FB status updates.

Rad, Mary. Thanks for your feedback. We’ll put the word out among the Shelton listener & see if we can’t work something out. BBQ, here you come!

Aaron or Ben! Do you guys know of the Sufjan Stevens song “”They Are Night Zombies!! They Are Neighbors!! They Have Come Back from the Dead!! Ahhhh!?” It’s off the Illinois album. I hereby request that you play it next time you speak of Zombies…It would make me very happy.

On the God saving someone thing…I think Christians, and I claim to be one, attribute WAY to much random and chance happenings to God’s intervention. I’m also of the opinion that most do so out of good, but misguided intent. I think God is all powerful and being such, I believe He can, and has, involved Himself in our affairs from time to time. With that said, I am not here on earth with the sole perpose to decide what is and is not God. I am more than content to say God is God, I am me and I have no idea what He’s up to in the day to day or hour to hour picture. Though I am self centered enough to say if an unavoidable source of death is coming my way I’m ok with God saving me

I think the fusing of politics and God comes from a giant misinterpretation of the Bible. It’s so rampant and it makes me sad and angry so I talk about it and I’m glad you’re talking about it. Hopefully some people might get to thinking.
Same with the randomness of things people say were God’s will. People don’t want to think about what’s nebulous, we like to put things in a nice little box. (Get your mind out of the gutter.)

hey grapes. i’m a little behind this week. still listening to ep. 45.
i just had to stop and comment because, aaron, i can’t believe you played “tears in heaven.” genius and perhaps a little sick. love it.
at the baseball game last night they played “under pressure” at a critical moment and i decided that you, aaron, would be perfect for choosing baseball segue clips. say hello to your dream job. you’re welcome.
