RE: U2-I told a friend the other day that if U2 and I were friends on Facebook, I would block them from my page. I loved Joshua Tree, but War was pretty good too and now I am just sad and wanna break up with them- Even Larry Mullen the drummer who is hot.

I totally agree Mary! I feel like they just don’t care about music anymore! Joshua Tree was SO SO SO good and since then it seems the more the pop culture embraces them the less they care and the wierder and crappier their sounds gets….it’s SO sad. I just want to back hand Bono across the face!

I don’t remember either of those Asian guys in Paris being remotely big or strong. I’m pretty sure you gave the money back because your new wife made you…
Aaron

While “big” or “strong” may not be entirely accurate, I specifically remember thinking, “If I run, this Chinese guy could definitely catch me.” And since we didn’t eat any carbs for 2 months before the wedding, I wasn’t feeling up to a fight…
Also, I gave most of the money back.

Once in my senior year of college this guy, Kevin Margerum was his name actually, came into class and got down on one knee and was holding a ring box. The class went silent and he said “Stephanie, there’s been something I’ve been wanting to say to you” and I opened the box and inside it he had written “EAT SHIT.”
I thought you guys might enjoy that.

Umm… thanks for talking about the titanic memorial and re-instilling all my fears. When I was younger I wouldn’t even go on ferries… and now this December I’m going on a cruise with Tristan’s family. AHHH… this memorial cruise would be my worst nightmare.

I love that you played Alice in Chains (unplugged, even). They were my favorite band before Supergrass was and before that U2 was my favorite. I loved U2 so hard for so long but for the past 8 or 9 years I’ve been increasingly annoyed by them and I hate that it has to be this way but there’s something to be said for knowing when to stop.
Like I don’t know how to do when it comes to leaving comments.

Own your own business.

i think it’s a bit more complicated than that, as i’ve owned my own business as well as been the “president” of a nonprofit. they were equally horrific jobs.

I was on a cruise around 10 years ago and not only did they mention the titanic, they played the crapy 1997 movie. Seemed pretty stupid to me back then too.

I hated Titanic. I would rather you poke my eyes out with a spork then sit and watch that terrible piece of crap ever again. Just the thought of it makes my neck tense up…..I think it’s historically awesome, but that shitty movie ruined the tragedy for me. I still can’t look at Leaonardo De’whatever and his little pointy face.

it’s funny, but i’ve never actually seen the whole thing (titanic). i lived at a house where they had it on VHS, but i could only find “tape 2″, so i got to see that guy hit the propeller on the way to davy jones’ locker, but that was about it. i think i’m probably one of the few people in the western hemisphere who hasn’t seen the entire thing.

I LOVE the Titanic Movie. It’s still one of my favorites. If I find it on tv, there’s just no turning the channel. I’ve got my double VHS copy sitting on the entertainment system, and I’m waiting for the right moment to plug it in and get swept away… meaning I think that’s my Friday night plans.
I DON’T want to go on a memorial cruise.
